Social media can be quite overwhelming and marketing yourself can seem nearly impossible, but it doesn’t have to be that way! Social media tools are plentiful and are here to help you out with your marketing and business needs — they just might not be obvious or easy to find at first glance. Today, we’re going to take a look at 5 free social media tools that will skyrocket your marketing and business! You’ll be amazed at how much easier this process can become when you get creative with these tools!

1) Canva

Canva is great for everything from designing business cards and social media posts, to making infographics and packaging materials. Canva, in particular, is also a great tool for beginners. They have tons of templates that you can use or customize; all you need is a blank canvas and some creativity. If you’re not sold on these two specifically, there are dozens of other design sites out there where you can get started for free. With just a few quick tips (like how to make it look good), you could be designing like a pro in no time at all. With both Canva and Pixellab, you don’t even need any previous design experience. You don’t even need to know how to work Photoshop — all you really need is an idea for what you want to create, and then just follow their simple steps. And once you start using one of these sites regularly, it becomes second nature — you won’t even have to think about it anymore because they become muscle memory.

2) Headline Analyzer

CoSchedule’s Headline Analyzer scans headlines for specific elements of interest: how well they align with user intent (engagement), whether or not they use words in ways that resonate with readers, how descriptive a headline is, etc. The Headline Analyzer will then score your headline on a scale of 1–100 based on these factors — and it gives you detailed feedback on exactly where you can improve. This handy tool will save you time, money, and boost engagement. In short: if your site isn’t up there in search results it’s probably because your content just isn’t optimized enough. And what better way to optimize than getting objective feedback from a tool?

3) Socialoomph

Socialoomph is a great tool for managing multiple social network accounts on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, Foursquare and WordPress. You can schedule Tweets or statuses to go out at certain times. You can also see which of your tweets get more engagement from users. It’s a must have for any digital marketer or brand manager looking to keep up with their accounts in one place. The main thing I like about it is that you can upload all your images and then post them across all platforms simultaneously. This makes it easy to plan content for each platform and helps maximize exposure on different networks. This is another useful tool that helps streamline your online presence by allowing you to manage multiple social networks through one dashboard. There are three plans: Free (limited features), Pro ($9/month) and Enterprise ($25/month). Hootsuite offers similar functionality as other social media management tools but what sets it apart is its focus on helping brands build relationships with their customers via different channels. 4) Bit.ly

Bit.ly is a URL shortener that gives you statistics on clicks, demographics of clickers, where they’re coming from (and going), etc. It has a very strong reputation in the digital marketing world. Using bit.ly will give you an idea of how well your content is performing and what kind of people are engaging with it. This will allow you to target specific audiences more effectively when promoting future content. Social networking can be a difficult thing to keep up with as you try to market yourself and/or your company. And, if you have any desire at all for getting serious about digital marketing or doing social media right, then keeping track of all those networks is essential. I would suggest using a tool like bit.ly for Twitter links. This way you can quickly see which links perform best without having to go into each network individually.

5) Loom

Loom is a brand-new video recording app that’s totally free. It uses an easy to use interface, allowing you to quickly shoot short videos right from your phone. In just a few taps, you can make a high-quality, simple video for YouTube or Instagram that shows off exactly what you’re offering. You can also add text overlays with a simple click so people have something specific to connect with you about — after all, followers on social media are no good if they don’t know how they can engage with you offline! Loom allows you to quickly record and share short videos right from your smartphone, whether it be for content creation, vlogging or making explainer videos. With its clean interface and design focus, it allows users to create professional looking videos in minutes.

Conclusion

If you are tight on budget and you are looking for free and effective social media and marketing tools then I have given you but a few to start with. There are hundreds of more out there so make sure to do some research and find what works best for you, your brand, and most importantly your customers. Good luck in all of your endeavors!
